"Start low, go slow"
The general principle for careful titration.
"Start low, go slow" is an internationally established cautionary principle, mainly originating from medical cannabis use. The idea behind it: it is better to start with a very small amount and increase it slowly, rather than underestimating the effect. This way, unwanted effects such as restlessness, nausea, or circulatory problems can be better avoided.

Start low
Start with the smallest possible amount — thus less than what you would intuitively consider "normal." Better too little than too much.

Wait for onset
Wait for the full onset of effect of the chosen form of consumption before even considering a redose (see Tool 2).

Go slow
Increase only in small steps and with sufficient time between increases. Make changes over days rather than within a single session.
